Sixty is not sweet sixteen. But you give hope to many in that age group. Sixty is the age when one becomes serene and start coming to terms with many things. Sixty is the age when a woman starts looking at things differently. Life offers little for her. But she can offer a lot.The anxiety of the fortys vanishes, while the gloominess of fiftys stays for a while. Birthdays are no more fun but grim reminders of advancing age. Children take over slowly. You are an exception along with some others. Exceptions dont make any difference for the vast majority but give hope to many who aspire to emulate you.

wonderful and inspiring, i must say.
ReplyDeletebut i don't understand the anxiety of women over age. you would never see a 60 year old bill gates writing a book 'bill at 60'. it's seems to be more about how to keep one's looks intact. men take pride over establishing an enterprise or something whereas women over keeping their beauties intact and their beauty tips updated. but you're an exception. not the rule.

From the cover the first gut feeling is its going to do very well( the cover is very attractive and has a classy look).The magic is about you and color blue.
As time is very good for you sep to dec ( every year)will usually be a good period( go back and u will come across many imp events taken place during this period) you have timed the booklaunch well expect good response and another thing is Shobhaa at sixty sums up to 16 = 7( your lucky number)Expect big miracle! try to do imp works on 7 and 2nd or dates adding to 7 and 2 you will have extra luck on your side- on any imp decisons with regard to book rely on your inner voice ( take your dreams , the small voice within seriously ).

I admire what you do Shobhaji. In fact, your spirit and enthusiasm at 60 is quite inspirational. However, it is sad to see that your photo looks heavily air-brushed and touched up on the cover. I do get your message that woman can look good at 60 but hate the publishing practise of air-brushing and depiction of a wrong image of a woman on the glossy covers. If anything, you look very good with your natural saari-clad look in your other photos- which I hope is without air brushing.

congrats for new book. must be great as u r. you are wonderful writer and person. the price of Rs.350 is too much for a middleclass reader so, as suggested by someone above, pl. publish it chapter wise when there is no stuff for your blog for the benefit of your regular blog readers.
