'My Name is Guts....!'

Gosh! How very rude of me! The first thing I should have done on my return to matrubhoomi is to thank you guys. Pourquoi?? Welllllll.... for running such a super efficient news agency! The updates were fantastic! Far better than catching up with stale news from a gigantic pile of old newspapers. I took one look at the heap carefully kept aside for me and decided to stay miles away. Stale news is even worse than a stale samosa. What were those newswallas going to tell me that I didn't already know .... from all of you.... masala included?? Having acknowledged my sincere gratitude.... let's move on.

D-Day or SRK- day is upon us. I am told the city is 'tense', but frankly, I don't have a sense of that at all. I am hazarding a guess - nothing too dramatic is likely to happen tomorrow when the film opens to the public. Some ritualistic dagad-phek, a few torn posters, perhaps a lathi charge. Then it will be back to business as usual - big business. Early reviews suggest a mega hit in the offing. I'm sure both Kaajol and Srk have delivered top class performances. And KJO is a master of the 4-hankie weepie. Full paisa vasool. As to who blinks first.... who cares? It is not a national calamity, merely an ego clash between super egoistical people. The sky isn't about to fall down, folks. So.... relax.

Am I going to risk my skull to watch the movie - first day, first show? Hell, no. Maatha kharab na ki? as the Bongs would say.

All in good time. Don't feel like holding forth on the subject across channels either. Vikram, Sonali, Karan..... I love you. But....kinda sick of the whole naatak. Apologise or don't, yaar. Just stop yakking so much.
The movie I really want to watch is 'Nine'. I hear Penelope Cruz is super delicious in it. But then, can she be anything less??

But as and when I do watch, " My name is Guts..." I shall rush to my laptop and 'do the needful'.

Waiting for your comment on this one.
I hope the film will nor be a disappointment like Kurbaan. Though Kajol in any film is worth watching anyway as am her big fan

Isn't it ironic how you started the post talking about the worthlessness of stale news and ended it promising us a review when you have the courage to step into a cinema hall?

Alright a movie review is an opinion, so I won't push the point too much.

Not that I blame you for giving it a miss, the powers that be don't inspire enough confidence for most of us to go see it. Do you think this lame "removal of security" move is a whitewash? Are we being played?

I feel now u have the reason to post one more topic as to why Mumbai has the lowest turn out for voting as I feel the eductaed Mumbaikars knows democracy for the city is no more there ... its either Sena or MNS who created better bollywood like flick by creating these issues

Hiee SHobha didi and my readers..

You know friends..

We are a big part of such a country, which is having very controversial history,

I confess that, mai chhota ho sakata hoon,(i am just 16) lekin aise issues par bolane ke liye age isn't important...

I was thinking if shivsena is working foe people, then it should not target the people.. means movie baghayla yenar nahit tyanch doki footnar nahit vagaire..

well think over it and reply..

I am gonna stay away from such things...

Welcome Shobhaa. 'been missing your posts on the hot samosas that were being dished out by our c(r)ooks across the country at an alarming rapidity. Actually our tongues have burnt by biting into them one after the other. Don't mind your valuable comments on even the stale samosas. Go ahead. We watching this space.

The ongoing drama is much more interesting than MNIK. Paisa vasool hogaya.
The humble brinjal is giving tough competition to MNIK headlineswise.

What news ?
It is only politics & bollywood just got into the way.
Do you expect fresh samosas in Indian politics ?
I'm going to see 'My name is Khan' before you trash it.
Thank God there are no senas in Mangalore.

What about Ram Sene?

To cool down this controversy just rename the movie to "My Name is Dumb Ass".

This will deflate the Thakre & Sons argument to get an apology and the dumb ass don't have to apologise.

As far as Vikram, Sonali and Karan are concerned...These are only some of the real PARASITES in India who can go to any extent to speak non-stop on non-issues.

CHUTTAD JOURNALISM has taken over big time and those with journalistic values have taken a back seat.

Who is a terrorist?

I picked up this definition from wordnet

" terrorist (a radical who employs terror as a political weapon; usually organizes with other terrorists in small cells; often uses religion as a cover for terrorist activities).

But what i understand from the term "terrorist" is :-

"the one who spreads terror or terrorises the common public or the administrative machinery by resorting to violent means, acting himself or through the organised groups of his followers to achieve any motive -- religious, political or just ideological."

Some of our politicians have terrorised people of our nation any number of times, resulting into loss of life and property. Every time the whole lot of police force and some times paramilitary and even the Army has to be deployed to save common people from their terror. The common citizens are not as much scared of bomb blasts or gun attacks, as of the goons of these terror spreading political parties.

These terrorists are more dangerous because they are constantly present in the midst of us all. They don't have to cross any borders, or smuggle any weapons. They just activate their sleeper cells at regular intervals and keep creating havoc amongst the common public. They not only disturb the peace and harmony of the society but also give a chance to the Nation's external enemies to encash the disturbance in law and order and creat further damage to the country.

Shouldn't the leaders of these political terrorist groups be put behind bars ???

I am glad you are not commenting on this. Why feed the marketing and political grist mill! They are doing very, very well enough on thier own.

Ummmm SRK does surprise me tho... for a man who is smart enough with his oneliners, he gets 'misconstrued' a LOT! So sad na!

I reject the violence or hatred towards any group in India, be it based on region, religion caste. We are human beings , Indians and we need to respect each other.

I think we people need to understand the political game going on. Its simple because of Bihar Elections, Rahul Gandhi started the controversy by politicsing role of NSG. In response SS/MNS politicised great martyars like Ombale, Karkare etc. Also to prove the political might Rahul Gandhi and congress detained lots of SS activists for just demonstrating against Rahul Gandhi. Now to prove the political might SS is resorting to stalling SRK film. The media has been looking to get their TRP high so they kept on twisting comments made by SRK and the politicians etc. Media added fuel to the controversy and showed as if everything wrong in this country is in Mumbai and there is nothing more important than SRK film or IPL matches.

We the people have to reject this nonsense going on and respect each other.

Those who feel insecure about someone is taking their jobs, I think no one but politicians are stealing the jobs by inciting violence, by means of huge corruption by not promoting entreprenurship and innovation. We should not fall into the politicians and media trap.

Let's stand together as people of India and let's do something positive to development of this great nation.

Shobha de I have a suggestion to make...Instead of travelling abroad all round the year and flaunting about your journey and experiences, curb your travel and donate that money to the poor in india instead ...This worthless publicity and showbaazi is not going to be beneficial in anyway

Hi Madam,

Remember me ? I was the one who taught you how to use mouse, typing on PC in 1996 when you was resident editor of Pioneer ...unfortunately I quit Mumbai ( TOI ) due to department politics.
I am Maharashtrian ( curse !)

And you know who were people behind my "punished" transfer to Kolkata ?

Maharashtrians ...

I am jobless as I am highly qualified ( As per HP, IBM , etc ). But still not frustrated. I am at my native place. Now earning more because now I have stopped thinking like an engineer!
Many more things can be said about politics but this is enough for this post. Waiting for reply …..
