Amitabh Bachchan at Parikrma Event...

The Big B is holding up the trendy jeans he donated to Parikrma's global initiative, Jeanaration, which kicked off in Mumbai this evening with Amitabh Bachchan's signed denims. These, along with 24 other pairs of jeans belonging to superstars, will be up for auction on e-bay shortly. This marks a first in India. And who better than our global icon to launch a global programme designed to benefit disadvantaged kids from school to junior college and beyond.
Seen in the picture, taken by my daughter Avantikka, are four bright youngsters from Parikrma, Madhumala, Diwakar, Vinod Kumar and Phatila, along with the founder of Parikrma, the dynamic Shukla Bose. During a lively interactive session with the children, Amitabh spoke candidly about his own life, and paid a rich tribute to his teachers, and of course, his illustrious father.
I cannot thank Amitabh enough. Not only did he give us a generous amount of time, but he spontaneously donated 11 lakhs to Parikrma.
We are so grateful!

My comment is in context to your article(s) regarding the show, Satyamev Jayate. Aamir's intentions, initiative and work far outweighs the hues and cries of all the skeptics. Aamir is a catalyst(one of many...), and I appreciate and applaud his efforts. I am part of the solution... how are you contributing Shobha?

Thats a nice move...If there's anything that I can do for these kids, would love to!

We should stretch this initiative to as many ppl as possible so that no disability can deter a child.

Glad to hear AB contributing to a great cause. I have heard many celebrities donating money unlike our politicians who do absolutely nothing for the mango ppl...
Keep up the good work guys! Thumbs up for Parikrma team!

Shobha,

Don't you regret now that you used to criticised both Big B & Ash in all your news paper columns earlier (before blogging & disenchantment from SRK), I remember many times you wrote "He was never a good actor blah blah..." , also you never praised both of them .
I read & remember many such columns by you .
